THe Pho (Beef Noodle Soup) is Absolutely Horrible

The pho or the beef noodle soup is definitely not authentic Vietnamese food because the soup is purely horrible. The soup did not taste fresh and the beef was definitely stale. The rice dishes were okay except that the rice was really hard. It is easy to tell that they used cheap rice. The price was very cheap, but I don't think I will ever go there again.

Give it a chance!!

Okay, I know it looks pretty...gross in there, but the food is good! This is the first Thai food place I tried and it got me hooked on Thai. The pad thai is NOT authentic but it is delicious. Yes, it has a ketchupy flavour, but it's also spicy and sweet and goes really well with the seafood. My favourite thing there is the tofu rolls. More than once, I've gone in and just ordered a couple servings of the tofu rolls. The tofu is nice and crispy and has an amazing garlicky kind of flavour. I always get them with the fish sauce instead of the peanut sauce. Golden Mango is a great option for a fast lunch as well. They have a good selection of lunch specials that are always at the table in about 10 minutes. Just try to ignore the general atmosphere and enjoy the food! Or get take out. That works too.

Rusty Tea Pots

First impression I received when we entered the restaurant is the atmosphere. It had a ghetto/shady feel to it. Tables, menus, and cutleries were very sticky. I asked the waitress for an extra piece of napkin and she told me to go get one myself at the cashier's counter. The food came quickly. I ordered a rice dish with pork chops which tasted very dry and bland. What really got me was the tea. Like the other poster said, there's a thick layer of rust in their tea pots when you open up the lid to look inside. I'm definitely not coming back.

One and only

Its quite simple this place is the best. For people who are stuck up on very clean restuarants and payment options, skip along this place is good for its FOOD. This item is not on the menu, but it could be custom made especially for you. On the little piece of paper they give you write this: -59, small, double meat, BBQ beef, less noodle, more veggies(broccoli, boc choy) -Plate of bean sprouts It will blow your mind. P.S. Later on im my life I will hire the Chef as my personal chef, so if you want the same you will have to outbid me.

Someone told us food was very good. I almost left...

Someone told us food was very good. I almost left when I first walked in and saw the state of the place. Very dirty, tables are all greasy looking. Plastic coated menus look like they have NEVER been washed. Must say the food was tastey enough. The spring rolls were fresh (pretty greasy) but good & the Pad Tai had very good flavor. When we asked for drinks they only have canned pop. Was told we don't have water. We shared the 2 dishes so when we asked for side plates, the young waiter, hesitantly got us 2 dirty & wet saucers. The floor has areas of tile that look they have not been cleaned in a very long time. At the end of the meal I went to pay & found they do not accept debit or visa. Even though they have the stickers on the register, they have a hand-written sign on the door "cash only"! Guess I missed that. All in all place felt atrociously filthy & while the food tasted good, I would not risk a return visit.

I loved my time at the Golden Mango. As a first time visitor and educated culinary critic, I was highly satisfied with the food quality, service, and overall cleanliness of this location. I was greeted with a smile and taken to a table immediately. The food was served promptly and the bill was kindly waiting, as soon as I finished my meal. Overall, I give the Golden Mango a 5-star rating in my ranks. They will be sure to receive many referals and I look forward to eating at their establishment in the future.

My favourite place to eat in the Plaza. Food is always excellent, the staff are friendly, food comes quick, and it's reasonably priced. Huge selection of food for everyone; my vegan boyfriend has no problem finding options. The Mango Tofu Fried Rice is delicious; a bit oily, but that just makes it all the better. Golden Mango really knows how to cook their tofu- best I've ever had. Vegetables in Curry Sauce is divine. Sauce is very tasty and not too spicy, plenty of perfectly cooked broccoli. My only problem is the drinks- they often come late and somewhat disappoint. Stick with the green tea.

Our table was dirty when we arrived and after...

Our table was dirty when we arrived and after asking for a qick wipe it remained dirty....I soon noticed that cleanliness was not a priority anywhere in the restaurant....the chopsticks for the whole day were out on the tables and were continually being touched by the children in the restaurant...and too bad if someone sneezed a few times..the chopsticks were perfectly situated to receive any airborn projectiles....food was too sweet and lacked fresh herbs and veggies!

Probably the worst Chinese food I have had in Waterloo. Rice was very greasy, food dull. Ugh. For a cheap lunch, there are better places in the "Plaza"
